Event Overview
The highly anticipated 3rd Edition Kumite Seminar with Christophe Pinna and the 2nd Edition Grand Prix JKA-Rwanda was a resounding success. Over three days, participants had the unique opportunity to learn from and compete under the guidance of one of the world’s most renowned karate figures, Christophe Pinna. This event not only highlighted the technical and competitive aspects of karate but also celebrated the dedication and spirit of all involved.

Day 1: Training UnderSensei Christophe Pinna

The event kicked off on December 13, with over 150 Participants (Kids and Adults) gathering to train under Christophe Pinna during a comprehensive kumite camp. Participants had the honor of
learning advanced techniques, strategies, and the philosophy of karate directly from Pinna.
His emphasis on discipline, precision, and the spirit of karate resonated deeply with attendees.
The seminar also welcomed foreign participants, with representatives from the UK, Kenya, the Democratic
Republic of Congo (RDC), and Zambia, further enriching the event’s diversity and global appeal. In his remarks, Pinna expressed his gratitude to all participants, partners, and supporters who contributed to the seminar’s success. The first day set a high standard for the rest of the event, energizing everyone with a sense of purpose and camaraderie.

Day 2: Training and Grand Prix Preliminaries

The second day began with continued training sessions led by Pinna. Participants honed their techniques and gained deeper insights into kumite strategies. The morning training was followed by the preliminary
rounds of the 2nd Edition Grand Prix JKA-Rwanda. Competitors showcased a fantastic display of skills
and the true spirit of karate, impressing both the audience and judges with their dedication and mastery. The preliminaries set the stage for an intense and thrilling final day

Day 3: Conclusion and Recognition


The final day of the event marked a historic milestone as Christophe Pinna signed two years collaboration
agreement to advise on the technical and youth development with FERWAKA. This significant
development promises to elevate the standards of karate training and competition in the country.

The 2nd Edition Grand Prix concluded with a medal ceremony honoring the top three competitors:

  • Ntwali Fiston – Gold
  • Niyitanga Halifa – Silver
  • Ndutiye Shyaka Mike Roger – Bronze

The event concluded on a high note, with participants and spectators celebrating the achievements and contributions of everyone involved. Sensei Pinna’s guidance and the dedication of all participants
underscored the essence of karate: unity, discipline, and the relentless pursuit of excellence
